Class Descriptions

Water Classes:

Water Aerobics is a co-ed class. This type of class uses ballistic type exercise. Using a progression method of teaching, each student will find his comfort zone while obtaining a cardio workout and converting fat into lean muscle mass.

Water Aerobics

Water Exercise is a co-ed class that offers a gentle cardio workout. This is a good class for a beginner to start building stamina, strength and tone.

Senior Water Aerobics is a co-ed class and lo-impact. Exercises are taught using a progression method. By using this method a senior who is new to exercise can choose his/her comfort level, and at the same time a very fit senior can still meet his/her challenge level.

Senior Water Aerobics

Deep Water Exercise - In this non-impact, co-ed class, students are in the deep water area of the pool. A flotation belt is worn (provided in class) which will keep a student's head above water.  A student must be comfortable in water but does not have to know how to swim in order to participate in this class. Deep Water Exercise is a total body workout and perfect for the person who is rehabilitating from surgery.

Aqua Arthritis

Aqua Sculpt is a high energy, non-impact co-ed class. It is not a traditional bouncy aerobics class, instead the exercises used in this class focus on core strength using levels two and three (no bounce and suspension). The natural resistance of the water sculpts the inches away.  This is an excellent class for the person who wants a non-impact class and is uncomfortable in deep water.

Abs & Glutes is a very high energy, co-ed class conducted in the shallow end of the pool. Exercises target the abs and glutes while still giving an over all workout. It is a more advanced class and not for the person recovering from surgery.

Abs & Glutes

Aqua Kick Boxing is a co-ed class packed with high energy and not for the person who has never exercised before or recovering from surgery. It is a great lower body workout.

Aqua Kick Box

Power Water Walking is a perfect co-ed class for the person who does not want to bounce and still stay in shallow water. Students learn how to use the water to their advantage to tone their body while still gaining cardio benefits and sculpting away inches. Power water walking is not just about walking forward and backwards!

Aqua Arthritis (Co-Ed) is a slower more gentler class. It is an excellent class for someone recovering from surgery. A large focus of the class is ROM (range of motion).

"Against the Current" is a Co-Ed class which has students working against the forces of the water. The class is high energy and will build and sculpt muscle.

Land Classes:

Arm Chair
classes are co-ed senior classes that provide a cardio workout while sitting in a chair. The class starts off with a gentle warm up and moves into the aerobic portion of the class. A small portion will consist of weight lifting and then ends with a stretch.

Stability Ball is a co-ed class that offers core and strength training while working the entire body. Hand held weights are used in this class. A large focus is put on ab and glute training. Students bring their own mat and ball to class.

Lo-impact Aerobic co-ed classes start with a warm up and go right into an aerobic segment. A portion is spent on weights and or bands and ends with a stretch.

Senior Strength Training is a co-ed class that is usually done seated or as a combination of seated and standing exercises. Students use weights, balls and bands depending on the length of the class.

Pilates is an introductory co-ed beginner MAT class. The class is slow and teaches proper form and execution of pilates exercises. Students bring their own mat to class.

Yoga is a co-ed class that is very gentle and geared towards the senior crowd. People who use wheel chairs and walkers can still participate in this class as there are NO floor exercises.

PACE means People with Arthritis Can Exercise. It is a gentle, seated exercise program for seniors which works all of the joints through full range of motion.
